Camera System and Card Access System Technician to deploy, troubleshoot, and maintain commercial physical security systems. You will be responsible for ensuring that facility’s surveillance networks and access control points are secure, operational, and seamlessly integrated with our IT infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- System Installation: Physically install, mount, and align IP/analog CCTV cameras, card readers, request-to-exit (REX) devices, maglocks, electric strikes, and control panels.
- Low-Voltage Cabling: Terminate, test, and troubleshoot low-voltage infrastructure including Cat5e, Cat6, and coaxial cables.
- System Programming: Configure Video Management Systems (VMS) and Access Control (ACS) software. Set up IP addresses, assign access privileges, and configure camera analytics.
- Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network connectivity issues. Perform routine maintenance and system health checks.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of system configurations, as-built diagrams, IP schemas, and maintenance logs.
- End-User Training: Provide basic training to staff and end-users on how to operate card access platforms and view security footage.
- Experience: 2–5 years of hands-on experience installing and servicing commercial access control and CCTV systems.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of low-voltage electrical circuits, electrified door hardware, and basic computer networking (IP addressing, switches).
- Platform Familiarity: Proficiency with Verkada a major plus; also industry-leading platforms such as Genetec, Avigilon, Milestone, LenelS2, or Brivo.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to safely work off ladders, lifts, and scaffolding, as well as lift up to 50 lbs.
