Position Summary
The ADAS Technician supports the collision repair process by performing vehicle scans on all on-site vehicles at both the beginning and end of repairs, as well as completing required ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) calibrations.
Working closely with collision center staff, this role helps ensure manufacturer service information, scan reports, and repair documentation are accurate, complete, and properly documented throughout the repair process.
This position is well suited for individuals looking to build foundational skills in automotive diagnostics and ADAS systems, as well as experienced professionals seeking to apply and expand their technical expertise.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform pre- and post-repair diagnostic scans on vehicles using aftermarket and OEM scan tools
- Read, review, and learn from manufacturer service information to understand system requirements and identify which calibrations may be required
- Accurately document scan results and upload findings to the repair order
- Perform ADAS calibration procedures according to manufacturer guidelines
- Perform dynamic calibrations and drive tests as required
- Transport customer vehicles to other locations for additional repair services as needed
- Initiate repair orders and estimates based on scan results, service information, and vehicle data
- Ensure all scanning documentation is clear, accurate, and compliant with company procedures
- Maintain organization of scan and ADAS equipment in the work area
- Follow all company safety, documentation, and quality standards
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic understanding of automotive systems or strong interest in learning automotive diagnostics
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable
- Ability to read, interpret, and learn from manufacturer service information
- Comfortable using computers, tablets, smartphones, and diagnostic scan tools
- Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on accurate documentation
- Ability to follow written procedures and verbal instructions
- Clear written communication skills for notes and documentation
- Willingness to learn ADAS-related systems and calibration requirements
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Valid driver's license required
Physical & Mental Demands
- Combination of sitting, standing, bending, walking, laying on the floor, and light to heavy lifting of up to 50 pounds
- Requires manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and full range of body motion
- Requires corrected vision and hearing within normal range
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to maintain professionalism and composure in a fast-paced, demanding automotive shop environment
- Comfortable driving vehicles as part of occasional transport tasks
