Aircraft Detail Technician

Want to work around private jets and aircraft while learning a specialized trade?

Gem State Aviation Services is launching RealClean Aircraft Detailing in the Greater Treasure Valley, and we're building our founding crew.

We're looking for dependable, hard-working people who take pride in doing excellent work, enjoy working with their hands, and want the opportunity to grow with a new aviation business from the beginning.

Previous aircraft detailing experience is not required. Selected team members will receive professional aircraft-detailing training, including one week of paid, hands-on training at RealClean's training facility in Chicago, with company-paid travel expenses.

You'll learn aircraft-specific detailing techniques, safety procedures, products and equipment while working on aircraft ranging from general aviation planes to turboprops and private jets.

What You'll Do

As an Aircraft Detailing Technician, you'll work as part of a professional crew performing services that may include:

Exterior wet and dry washing

Aircraft interior detailing and sanitation

Leather cleaning and conditioning

Carpet and upholstery extraction and stain removal

Lavatory and galley cleaning and sanitation

Window, wood and interior trim care

Brightwork and metal polishing

De-ice boot cleaning and refurbishment

Waxing and aircraft paint care

Paint revitalization and protective treatments as trained and qualified

Aircraft preparation and post-service quality inspections

You'll also help prepare equipment and supplies, maintain our service vehicle and work areas, complete required documentation, and follow RealClean's aircraft-specific safety and quality procedures.

Paid Professional Training

We'll teach you how to do this the right way.

Selected founding-team members will attend one week of paid RealClean aircraft-detailing training in Chicago. Gem State will cover required travel expenses for company-sponsored training.

Training also includes required online coursework and continued hands-on development after returning to Idaho.

Technicians will progressively learn and qualify on different aircraft-detailing services as they demonstrate competency. More advanced and specialty services are performed only after the appropriate training and qualification.

Schedule

This will be a full-time position, with a minimum of 30 paid hours per week guaranteed during the initial launch period, progressing toward a regular 40-hour workweek as customer volume grows

Day shift and some weekend availability required

Schedule may vary depending on aircraft arrival and customer needs

Additional hours may be available based on customer demand

Overtime is paid in accordance with applicable law for hours worked over 40 in a workweek.

Occasional travel within our service territory, including McCall, may be required. Company-required travel expenses are paid by Gem State.

Compensation & Benefits

Starting pay: $25/hour

Full-time, hourly position

Overtime eligibility

40 hours (5 days) of PTO annually, accrued each pay period

24 hours (3 days) of paid sick time annually, accrued each pay period

Physical Requirements

Aircraft detailing is physically demanding. You must be able to:

Lift and carry up to 50 pounds

Stand and walk for extended periods

Frequently bend, kneel, squat and reach

Work safely from approved ladders and elevated work platforms.
