Now Hiring: Lead Maintenance Supervisor / Maintenance Technician

A property management company is seeking a reliable and experienced Full-time Lead Maintenance Supervisor / Maintenance Technician for two multi-family residential properties located across the street from each other in the South Shore neighborhood of Chicago, IL.

Pay: starting up to $24/hour

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and work alongside the maintenance team while coordinating with the Property Manager and Field Supervisor
  • Maintain boilers, complete unit turnovers, handle maintenance work orders, and assist with daily building operations
  • Respond promptly to routine, urgent, and emergency maintenance issues to ensure resident safety and protect property integrity
  • Perform preventative maintenance on building systems, equipment, and common areas
  • Perform general maintenance duties including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC troubleshooting
  • Perform plumbing repairs such as drain snaking, replacing faucets, sweat pipes, and working with zone heating systems
  • Perform basic electrical repairs as needed
  • Complete carpentry work including cabinetry, trim, baseboards, casing, and laminate flooring installation
  • Install appliances, blinds, locks, fixtures, and flooring
  • Complete apartment rehabilitations and turnovers for new move-ins
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using company systems
  • Assist with snow removal and grounds cleanup as needed
  • Report property damage, lease violations, or unusual activity to management
  • Lead by example and maintain a professional and courteous manner with residents, coworkers, and vendors
  • Assist with special projects as directed
Requirements:
  • Previous multi-family maintenance experience required
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, boilers, and overall building maintenance
  • Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Must speak and understand English
  • Reliable, professional, and able to work independently
