Lead Apartment Maintenance technician

Description

We are looking for experienced apartment maintenance professionals who are ready to step into a Lead Maintenance Technician role at communities throughout the Phoenix metro area.

This is not an entry-level maintenance position.

We’re looking for people who already know apartment maintenance and can handle higher-level work without needing constant direction.

You should be comfortable completing your own work while also helping keep turns, work orders and the rest of the maintenance team moving.

You should have strong experience with:

  • Apartment turns and make-readies
  • HVAC troubleshooting and repair
  • Plumbing
  • Electrical troubleshooting
  • Appliance repair
  • Drywall and painting
  • Preventative maintenance
  • Work-order completion
  • Diagnosing maintenance issues
  • Helping organize and prioritize daily maintenance needs
  • Assisting and directing other maintenance technicians when needed
We’re looking for someone who can solve problems, not someone who needs to be walked through every repair.

You must have:

  • Strong apartment maintenance experience
  • Your own maintenance tools and drill/impact driver
  • Reliable transportation
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Working phone and reliable communication
  • Clean criminal background
  • Ability to pass a drug test
  • Reliable attendance
EPA 608 certification is strongly preferred for Lead Technician opportunities. HVAC experience is important. Pool certification is a plus.

Pay: $25–$28/hr depending on experience, certifications and assignment.

Most schedules are Monday through Friday, typically 7–4 or 8–5. Lead positions may require participation in an on-call rotation, overtime or after-hours emergency response.

We have temporary, long-term temporary and temp-to-hire opportunities.

A few things you need to understand before applying:

Our jobs are at apartment communities throughout the Valley. We do not control where the openings are. The more flexible you are with your commute, the more opportunities we can offer you.

If you tell us you can handle HVAC, electrical, plumbing or other skilled maintenance work, expect us to ask you specific questions about it during the screening process.

We’re not looking for someone who simply has “Lead Technician” on a resume. We’re looking for someone who can actually do the work.

If you accept an assignment, we expect you to show up. Repeated call-outs, last-minute cancellations or poor communication will affect whether we contact you for future assignments.

If you show up, know your trade, take ownership and get good feedback from the property, we’ll work hard to keep opportunities in front of you.

Our process is simple:

Send us your resume or a detailed description of your maintenance experience.

We’ll complete a phone screening, run the required background process and get qualified technicians in front of properties quickly.

No unnecessary trip across town just to sit in our office for an interview. You prove yourself by doing the work.

When responding, please include:

  • Years of apartment maintenance experience
  • Previous Lead Technician experience
  • Your HVAC experience and what you can diagnose/repair yourself
  • Your experience with plumbing, electrical and appliances
  • What part of the Valley you live in
  • Whether you have reliable transportation
  • Whether you have your own tools
  • Your current availability
  • EPA/HVAC/pool certifications
• Whether you’re looking for steady work or occasional assignments
