Apartment Maintenance Supervisor (EPA Certified)

Description

PLEASE READ BEFORE APPLYING

We are a STAFFING AGENCY that works specifically with apartment communities throughout the Phoenix metro area.

We are not a general labor staffing agency, and we do not send people to warehouses, construction sites, or random jobs. We have been staffing the multifamily industry for over 30 years. Apartment communities call us when they need experienced maintenance help, and we send qualified maintenance professionals directly onsite.

If you are not interested in working through a staffing company, this probably isn’t the right opportunity for you.

We are looking specifically for experienced Apartment Maintenance Supervisors for opportunities in Mesa and the East Valley.

This is NOT a position for someone looking to move into their first maintenance leadership role.

You need previous apartment Maintenance Supervisor or strong Lead Technician experience. You should be able to walk onto a property, understand what needs to be done, prioritize the workload, communicate with management, lead the maintenance team, and still get your hands dirty when needed.

You should have strong experience with:

  • Managing daily apartment maintenance operations
  • Supervising maintenance technicians, porters, and vendors
  • Prioritizing work orders and apartment turns
  • HVAC diagnosis and repair
  • Plumbing and electrical troubleshooting
  • Appliance troubleshooting and repair
  • Preventative maintenance
  • Make-readies and turn scheduling
  • Property inspections
  • Inventory, parts, and maintenance supplies
  • Vendor coordination
  • Pool and common-area maintenance
  • On-call and emergency maintenance
  • Communicating with property management about maintenance issues, turns, and priorities
A Maintenance Supervisor needs to do more than know how to fix things.

You need to be able to run the maintenance side of an apartment community.

That means knowing how to prioritize when everything feels important, keeping your team moving, communicating with management, holding people accountable, and stepping in to complete repairs yourself when necessary.

You must have:

  • Previous apartment Maintenance Supervisor or strong Lead Technician experience
  • Strong hands-on apartment maintenance experience
  • Current EPA 608 Type II or Universal certification
  • Strong HVAC troubleshooting and repair experience
  • Your own maintenance and HVAC tools
  • Reliable transportation
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Working phone and reliable communication
  • Clean criminal background
  • Ability to pass a drug test
  • Reliable attendance
EPA 608 Type I certification by itself does not qualify you for these positions. You must have Type II or Universal certification.

CPO or other pool certification is highly preferred.

Pay: $27-$30 per hour depending on experience, certifications, and assignment.

Most schedules are Monday through Friday, typically 7–4 or 8–5. Supervisor positions commonly include an on-call rotation and may require after-hours emergency response.

We have temporary, long-term temporary, and temp-to-hire opportunities.

Understand how our assignments work before applying:

Our jobs are at apartment communities throughout the Valley. We do not control where the openings are. Properties contact us when they need help, so the more flexible you are with your commute, the more opportunities we can offer you.

When a property needs a Maintenance Supervisor, there is usually a reason.

They may be short staffed, behind on work orders, behind on turns, dealing with HVAC issues, or going through changes onsite.

Things may be busy. Things may be unorganized. Management may be under pressure.

You need to be able to walk into that environment, communicate, figure out what needs attention, and start getting things done.

Expect the worst, hope for the best.

Some assignments are temp-to-hire, but being sent to a temp-to-hire position does not guarantee that you will be hired.

Think of it as a working interview.

You aren’t sitting in an office telling the property that you can run a maintenance department. You’re showing them.

Show up. Communicate. Lead. Take initiative. Solve problems. Help your team. If something needs to get done, get it done.

The properties are looking for supervisors they can depend on and potentially keep long term.

If you accept an assignment, we expect you to show up. We understand that life happens, but repeated call-outs, last-minute cancellations, or poor communication will affect whether we contact you for future assignments.

On the other side of that, if you show up, know your trade, lead well, and we receive good feedback from the property, we
