ASE Master Technician / Master Diagnostic Consultant (Remote)

**Location:** Remote (U.S.)

We're a growing automotive technology company looking for a highly experienced **ASE Master Technician** to join our team as a **Master Diagnostic Consultant**.

This is **not** a traditional repair position.

There are **no physical vehicle inspections, no repairs, no phone calls, no customer appointments, and no commission-based sales.**

Instead, you'll use your decades of automotive expertise to remotely assess repair requests submitted by drivers through our platform.

This opportunity is ideal for a retired technician, former shop owner, dealership foreman, service manager, or seasoned master technician looking to **supplement their income** by leveraging their knowledge from anywhere in the United States.

Everything is completed remotely through our internal chat platform on a flexible schedule.

## What You'll Do

Drivers submit information about their vehicle, including repair estimates, photos, videos, diagnostic information, and descriptions of the issues they're experiencing.

Using your professional experience, you'll provide your assessment by:

• Reviewing repair estimates
• Evaluating whether the recommended repairs appear reasonable
• Estimating expected labor hours
• Estimating realistic parts costs
• Determining what reputable independent repair shops would typically charge
• Identifying repairs that may warrant additional review or clarification
• Providing your professional assessment through written chat

You will **never** be required to speak with customers or perform repairs.

• Suspension repairs

• Check Engine Light diagnostics
• Common maintenance recommendations
• Virtually all major repair categories that customers typically visit repair shops for

**Experience with collision estimating, cosmetic damage, or body shop pricing is a significant plus but not required.**

## Required Qualifications

• ASE Master Automobile Technician certification
• Minimum 20 years of professional automotive experience
• Extensive multi-brand diagnostic experience
• Experience writing or reviewing repair estimates
• Strong understanding of labor times, parts pricing, and repair procedures
• Experience using ALLDATA, Mitchell 1, or similar estimating software
• Ability to estimate realistic independent-shop pricing
• Excellent written communication skills

• L1 Advanced Engine Performance certification
• Former independent shop owner
• Former dealership shop foreman
• Former service manager
• Collision estimating experience
