Can you lead a team and install, configure and upgrade AV / IT systems, home theaters, door access systems and video conferencing units? Can you do AV wiring, low voltage/telecom wiring, and computer wiring and terminations? Do you understand, and can you read and translate signal flow diagrams and architectural plans for AV systems? Minerva Audio Visual is a growing and dynamic audio, video, IT, telecom, low voltage and lighting production, design, and installation company located in New York City. We do work all over the tri-state area and across the country. For 25 years, our projects have been wide ranging, from corporate board rooms, to high end residential, to full blown theatrical stages, and back into retail and commercial lobbies and amenities areas.
We are currently looking for a qualified full time lead technician. If you are an experienced AV / IT installation technician and have expertise in AV & IT system installation, engineering, programming, audio, video, IT, networking or electrical / low voltage device install and construction, Minerva may be your landing spot.

Qualifications:
-Present a clean, professional appearance and be able to communicate clearly and concisely in English
-At least 5 years experience in audio, video, IT, surveillance or AV related fields
-Clean and valid Driver's License, and can drive a van or box truck
-Can terminate F connector (coax), CAT 5/6, phoenix connector, speaker negative and positive posts, and can teach others to do the same
-Can run raw wire in a commercial or residential setting, and lead others to do the same
-Understand schematic drawings and cable schedules, and be familiar with typical video and audio signal paths. Knows how to read architectural drawings
-Proficient with all basic computer, audio, video, surveillance system functions, and the ability to lead a crew to do so
-Has a set of proper tools, including drill, fish tape, crimpers, cable testers
-Can get into an attic or crawl space and trace a wire down, and instruct someone else how to do it
-Has the ability to lift 50 pounds
-Can drill a hole and install a concrete anchor, and supervise / instruct others doing the same
-Can cut sheetrock and install blocking for a TV mount, speakers or wall mounted control panel
-Can read a wire diagram and technical drawings/flow diagrams
-Familiar with superstrut, threaded rod, and attaching AV items to I-beams, black iron and slabs
-Can run a wire across a drop ceiling without getting dust on the receptionist's desk
-Comfortable with navigating the typical office setting with class and professionalism
-Can talk to an electrician with knowledge and understanding
-Can create a clean and safe work space when doing a job. Always puts a drop cloth down before tools and parts go down on the client floor
-Can multitask and think on their feet
-Can solve the problem before you leave, even if it is a work around
-Realizes compensation is based on performance
-Likes to be green and not contribute to pollution
-Ready to ride the subway, train, plane or bus with your tools from time to time
-Availability to work a 40 hour shift from Monday to Saturday 7am to 7pm (but we try to get it done during the week!)
Candidate Pluses (not requirements, but would put you at the front of the line):
-Can terminate/solder an XLR, BNC, Mini BNC, RCA
-Fluid with computer functions on Mac or PC
-Ability to program Crestron, RTI, Kramer, Savant, Logitech, URC remotes and systems
-Has project management or project coordination experience
-Know what the following are: siamese security cable, Brivo, Digital Watchdog, Wattbox, HD-SDI, Serial port, 5 wire RGB (BNC), BOM, FOH and HDMI balun (extender).
