Auto Body Painter/Technician Needed

Description

EZ 4X4, a leading manufacturer of aftermarket automotive accessories, is seeking an experienced Auto Body Painter & Body Technician to refinish and cosmetically repair vehicles used to showcase our products. This role focuses on high-end finishes, full color changes, and show-quality presentation.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform complete vehicle repaints, including full color changes, custom finishes, and multi-stage paint systems (base/clear, tri-coat, pearls, metallics).
  • Execute cosmetic body repairs: dent and scratch repair, minor panel work, feather/prime/block, seam sealing, and panel alignment to show-quality standards.
  • Prepare vehicles and components for paint: disassembly/reassembly, masking, substrate prep (DA sanding, wet sanding), adhesion promotion, and surface cleaning.
  • Mix, match, and tint paint to exact specifications; maintain accurate color consistency across panels and plastics.
  • Spray using professional techniques in a controlled booth environment; achieve high-gloss, low orange peel, and minimal defects.
  • Correct paint defects (dust nibs, runs, texture) via cut, buff, and polish to a flawless finish.
  • Maintain equipment, paint booth, and safe handling of materials; follow OSHA/EPA and shop safety standards.
  • Collaborate with design and product teams to ensure vehicles highlight our aftermarket accessories and branding.
Qualifications

  • 5+ years professional experience in auto body painting and refinishing with a portfolio of full color-change projects.
  • Mastery of prep and finishing processes, including bodywork, priming, sealer application, and multi-stage topcoats.
  • Proficiency with HVLP spray guns, mixing systems, spectrophotometers, and color-matching/tinting.
  • Strong understanding of plastics, composites, and metal substrates used in modern vehicles.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to show-quality results and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of safety, environmental regulations, and proper PPE and material handling.
  • I-CAR, ASE, or OEM refinish certifications are a plus.
