Lead Automotive Technician

Description

About Us:

We are a busy, independent, family-owned repair shop in Miami. We built our business on honesty, clean bays, and treating our team like human beings—not numbers on a corporate spreadsheet. We have a steady flow of loyal, customer-pay diagnostic and heavy repair work, and we are looking for a true professional to help lead our shop floor.

The Opportunity:

Are you an A-level technician who loves diagnosing complex issues but is tired dealership grind? We are hiring a Lead Technician with an immediate path to Shop Foreman.

In this role, you won't just spin wrenches all day. You will be the technical anchor of the shop, handling advanced diagnostics while mentoring a B-level technician assigned directly to you. We reward leadership: You will receive a direct financial override/bonus based on the productivity of the technician you manage. As they succeed, your paycheck grows.

What We Offer (Why We Are Better Than the Dealer):

  • Stable Pay Structure: Competitive base rate with production bonuses.
  • True Work-Life Balance: Monday through Friday only. Enjoy your weekends with your family.
  • Leadership Incentives: Direct financial override bonuses for managing and developing apprentice/B-level staff.
  • Advanced Tooling & Support: We provide up-to-date factory-level scanners, regular software subscription updates, and a variety of other shop tools.
  • No Drama Environment: Transparent dispatching, an (partially) air-conditioned/well-ventilated shop floor, and zero corporate politics.
What You’ll Do:
  • Perform high-level advanced diagnostics (electrical, drivability, scan tool analysis) and complex mechanical repairs.
  • Oversee shop flow and quality control for your designated team bay.
  • Mentor, guide, and help troubleshoot issues for a junior/B-level technician.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and efficient shop environment.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience: 8+ years of professional automotive repair experience (A-Level proficiency).

Certifications: ASE Technician certifications preferred (or equivalent proven diagnostic experience).

Skills: Strong electrical diagnosis, drivability troubleshooting, major mechanical repair skills and good communication skills

Mindset: A desire to lead, teach, and step into a management role. Must bring your own primary tools (specialty diagnostic equipment provided by shop).
