Description
Silverdale Autoworks is seeking an organized, dependable, customer-friendly automotive parts professional to join our team!
Silverdale Autoworks is a busy, established independent automotive repair shop looking for an Automotive Parts Professional to work closely with our service advisors and technicians.
Approximately 65% of the vehicles we service are European makes, so knowledge of European vehicles, parts, and suppliers is a definite plus!
This is a key support position in our shop. Your primary responsibility will be keeping parts organized, ordered, and available when needed. You'll also support our service advisors by answering phones, assisting customers, and handling vehicle check-outs as needed.
We're looking for someone who enjoys staying busy, can juggle multiple priorities, and understands the importance of teamwork and great customer service.
What You'll Be Doing
- Parts Coordination & Management
- Researching, sourcing, and ordering automotive parts for a variety of makes and models, with a strong emphasis on European
- Working with vendors to find quality parts at competitive prices
- Identifying correct parts using electronic catalogs, VIN information, and supplier resources
- Pre-ordering parts for future jobs
- Tracking orders and following up on deliveries and backorders
- Receiving, verifying, and organizing incoming parts
- Staging parts for technicians to keep repairs moving efficiently
- Managing returns, cores, credits, and warranty claims
- Communicating parts availability and delivery updates to service advisors
- Keeping the parts area organized and running efficiently
- Service Advisor & Customer Support
- Answering incoming phone calls when service advisors are busy
- Greeting and assisting customers at the front counter
- Helping with customer check-outs and processing payments
- Assisting with basic appointment scheduling and customer inquiries
- Supporting service advisors with day-to-day administrative tasks
- Helping keep the front counter running smoothly during busy periods
- Automotive parts knowledge and experience preferred
- Knowledge of European vehicles and parts is a definite plus
- Familiarity with brands such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volkswagen, Volvo, MINI, and Porsche is especially valuable
- Experience sourcing European OEM and aftermarket parts is a plus
- Experience in an independent repair shop, dealership, or automotive parts store
- Ability to use electronic parts catalogs and online ordering systems
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn shop management software
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Friendly, professional communication skills
- Comfortable speaking with customers in person and over the phone
- Ability to multitask and switch between responsibilities as needed
- Dependable, self-motivated, and willing to take initiative
- A team player who is happy to jump in and help wherever needed
