Automotive Parts Specialist - Classic Cars

Description

At Vintage Iron and Restoration, we don’t just fix cars; we revive icons. We run a premier, super-clean, and fully air-conditioned shop—because we believe a high-level team deserves a high-level environment. We are looking for a persistent Automotive Parts Specialist who lives for the "hunt." If you are a master of logistics who can track down a needle in a haystack and get it to the shop floor on time, we want you.

Why Professionals Choose Vintage Iron:

  • The Environment: A professional, organized, and climate-controlled shop.
  • The Schedule: 40 Hour work week - M–F, 6:00 am – 3:00 pm shift. Keep your afternoons and weekends.
  • The Standard: We work with upscale clients who value quality. No "parts-changing" here—we deal in authentic restoration.

What the Role Demands:

We need a parts specialist who understands that a restoration project is only as fast—and as profitable—as the accuracy of its parts department.

1. Sourcing & Procurement Efficiency:

• Market Research: Proactively search multiple vendors and platforms to identify the best price and immediate availability for
every component.

  • The Rare Find: Expertise in locating rare, NOS (New Old Stock), and high-quality reproduction parts for classic builds (1930
  • 1979).
• Logistics Mastery: Ensure parts arrive in a timely and efficient manner, managing the workflow to keep our team moving.

2. Detailed Inventory & Financial Tracking:

• Shopmonkey Proficiency: Utilize Shopmonkey to process orders, track inventory, and maintain real-time updates on project
statuses.

  • Verification: Inspect all incoming shipments for accuracy and quality immediately upon arrival.
  • Returns Management: Process and track all returns with precision. You are responsible for ensuring that incorrect or damaged
parts are sent back promptly.

• Credit Recovery: Meticulously track and verify that all credits are received from vendors.

3. The Professional Mindset:

• Detail-Obsessed: You thrive on "the paper trail." You maintain organized records so that every part's status—from "ordered" to
"installed" or "returned"—is clear at a glance.

• Goal-Oriented: A self-starter who can multitask across several different projects without losing track of a single core charge or
backordered item.

• Solution-Oriented: When a part is backordered or "out of stock," you don't stop; you find the next best source that meets our
standards for quality and speed.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in automotive parts (restoration or specialty performance experience is a major plus).
  • Software: Proficiency with Shopmonkey or similar shop management software is highly preferred.
  • Computer Skills: Advanced online searching skills and digital communication.
  • The Essentials: Valid driver’s license, high school diploma, and the ability to lift/move parts as needed.
  • Reliability: An "on-time, every-time, not missing a day" work ethic.
