AUTOMOTIVE RESTORATION TECHNICAN

Vintage Underground restores and builds vintage European, British, and Italian automobiles, plus bespoke and EV re-envisioned projects. Our team of 30 works across four Eugene shops. We are looking for a highly skilled technician who can take cars all the way down and bring them back up—mechanically complete, correctly assembled, and ready to finish.

What you’ll do

• Perform full mechanical builds and restorations: engines, transmissions, rear ends, suspension, brakes, steering, and related systems
• Diagnose, repair, and assemble vintage and custom vehicles to a high standard
• Work electrical systems on older European cars as well as later or modified builds
• Support complete restorations from disassembly through final mechanical assembly
• Collaborate with coachbuilders, body/paint, upholstery, machine shop, and project staff
• Document work clearly and keep a clean, organized, professional workspace
• Help maintain a quiet, drama-free shop

What we’re looking for

• Strong, hands-on skill across core automotive systems—not a single-specialty only role
• Experience with full mechanical restorations or complete vehicle builds
• Comfort with vintage European cars (British and Italian experience is a plus)
• Ability to work independently, problem-solve, and hold a high finish standard
• Reliable, professional, team-oriented; we value craft over ego
• Senior-level experience preferred
