Description
Please send resumes VIA email and include examples of experience related to this role.
About the Role:
We are seeking an Automotive Restoration Technician to lead our restoration and repair efforts. Our shop is dedicated to the preservation of classic driving experiences. We don’t just "fix" cars; we curate them. You will be responsible for everything from ground-up mechanical restorations to the fine-tuning of complex vintage fuel systems.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Mechanical Restoration: Full teardown and rebuild of engines, transmissions, and suspension systems (including brakes) for pre-1996 European imports.
- System Diagnostics: Troubleshooting Lucas "Prince of Darkness" electrical systems and Bosch K/L-Jetronic fuel injection without the aid of a laptop.
- Precision Tuning: Expert-level synchronization of multi-carburetor setups (SU, Zenith-Stromberg, Weber).
Required Expertise:
- The Jaguar Specialist: Deep familiarity with the Jaguar XK straight-six and V12 powerplants.
- The German Precisionist: Proficiency with air-cooled Porsches and classic BMW/Mercedes chassis.
- Fabrication & Repair : Ability to problem-solve when parts are NLA (No Longer Available). Welding is not a requirement but is a skill that will be rewarded.
- The "Paperwork": Meticulous documentation of hours, parts, and build photos for client transparency.
- Work on some of the most iconic cars in automotive history.
- A clean, well-lit shop environment with specialized vintage tooling.
- Competitive compensation based on "old world" skill sets that are increasingly rare.
