Diagnostic foreman (automotive) - Part time

Description

If you've ever worked in an automotive shop, you know that the day is set in stone by noon. All diagnostic work is done on customer drop offs. Parts are ordered. Customers approve. The rest of the day can be filled with wrenching.

We are looking for a talented and efficient person to set our work straight everyday so our technicians can perform the actual work.

This person needs to be an a-tech with an intimate understanding of mechanical and electrical systems in late model automobiles. We're looking for the type of person who "proves the solve" with logic rather than guesses based on the likely case. We don't need someone who's going to get in there and do a pair of control arms - that's for the techs.

This is a great job for (lively) retirees, teachers, and automotive engineers. It's also a great job for former mechanics with physical limitations now. Our foreman will work with our OBD scanners, a multimeter, A/C sniffer, smoke machine, and other diagnostic tools - no physically heavy lifting.

You'll direct an excellent team of functional technicians in performing the actual work once you find your solves. This position ideally works 7 or 8am until 1pm or so, five days per week, then leaves the guys to finish the work. Occasional support by phone may be required.

We bring state of the art diagnostic tools and subscriptions, ownership willing to invest in the right equipment, and proficient technicians to carry out your solves.

Pay at $40-$65 an hour. 401k matching offered.
