Automotive Shop Junior Service Advisor / Assistant

Description

Bilingual (English/Spanish) Automotive Shop Junior Service Advisor / Assistant

Job description: Junior Service Advisor / Shop Assistant

Pay: $20 per hour + productivity bonus
Pay Range: $43,000 – $50,000 per year
Job Type: Full-Time (40 hours per week, Monday–Friday)

We're a friendly, family-owned neighborhood automotive repair shop in Northeast Los Angeles looking for a reliable Junior Service Advisor / Shop Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with customer service experience — or an automotive trade school student/recent graduate ready to move to the front of the shop — to build a career in service writing while learning every side of the business.

About the Job

Your main role is at the front counter: greeting customers, answering phones, scheduling appointments, writing up repair orders, presenting estimates, collecting payment, and following up on jobs in progress. You'll also handle parts management — ordering parts for scheduled work, receiving deliveries, returning cores and unused parts, and keeping the parts area organized. When things slow down up front, you'll help around the shop and support the technicians with light tasks. This is a true learn-by-doing role — you'll see firsthand how customer service, parts, and repairs all come together.

Requirements
✅ 100% Bilingual English/Spanish
✅ Strong customer service skills
✅ Comfortable with computers and shop management software
✅ Automotive repair knowledge (trade school students and recent grads welcome)
✅ Valid driver's license, clean record

A Very Big Plus
✅ Experience with Mitchell 1 Manager SE (invoicing and estimating)

Why Join Us

We offer a positive, drama-free atmosphere with direct mentoring from our service advisor and technicians — the kind of real-world guidance you can't get in a classroom. Steady hours Monday through Friday (between 8–6), biweekly pay with productivity-based bonus opportunities, paid sick leave, paid holidays, paid uniforms, paid training, and other fringe benefits. This is a long-term opportunity to grow into a full Service Advisor role while learning how every part of a shop runs — perfect for someone serious about building a career in the automotive service business.
