About the Position
We are a busy, established automotive repair shop doing approximately $2.4 million in annual sales with a team of 5 technicians and 2 service advisors.
We are looking for an experienced Automotive Shop Operations Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day operation of the business.
This is not simply a service advisor position. We need a leader who can manage people, workflow, customer experience and financial performance—and who enjoys being accountable for results.
The owner wants to step back from the daily firefighting and have a strong manager running the operation.

Technician productivity
Technician efficiency
Labor gross profit

You will have the authority and responsibility to manage the team toward these numbers.

We're looking for someone who:
Has previous automotive service or repair management experience
Has successfully managed technicians and service advisors
Understands how a profitable repair shop operates
Can read and understand a P&L
Is comfortable managing by numbers and KPIs
Is an excellent communicator
Can coach people while holding them accountable
Handles customer problems professionally
Is organized and decisive
Takes ownership instead of making excuses
Leads from the front and sets the standard for the team
Wants to build something rather than simply punch a clock
ASE certifications or technician experience are a plus, but leadership, management ability and business understanding are more important.
What We Offer
$75,000–$90,000 base salary, depending on experience
Performance-based bonus opportunity
Target total compensation of $90,000–$115,000+
Significant responsibility and autonomy
Opportunity to directly influence the success and profitability of the business
Established customer base and busy shop
A professional environment where good performance is recognized and rewarded
Who This Job Is NOT For
This position is not a good fit for someone who needs to be told what to do every day.
We're looking for someone who sees a problem, takes ownership and fixes it.
If you're tired of working in an environment where nobody is accountable, and you want the authority to actually run an operation and be rewarded for its success, we'd like to talk to you.
