Skilled Laborers | Carpenters | Lead Carpenters
$25-$55/hr DOE

Black Summit Contracting is hiring dependable, skilled, and motivated workers for residential home builds, remote projects, and full-scope construction work throughout Alaska.
We are looking for versatile people who can think, work hard, solve problems, and move a project forward. This is not single-task construction. Turnkey carpenters and multi-scope builders are preferred.

POSITIONS AVAILABLE

SKILLED LABORERS

Minimum 3 years construction experience preferred.
Skilled laborers must be able to support multiple phases of construction, including material handling, layout support, framing support, siding, decks, jobsite setup, cleanup, punch work, and general project support. Laborers must be reliable, physically capable, able to follow direction, read plans at a basic level, and think ahead.

CARPENTERS

Minimum 5 years construction experience preferred.
Carpenters should be comfortable working across rough and finish construction. Work may include framing, blocking, sheathing, siding, decks, doors, trim, cabinets, hardware, finish details, and punch list work. We are especially interested in carpenters who can work across multiple scopes instead of only one narrow trade task.

LEAD CARPENTERS

Minimum 5-8 years construction experience preferred.
Lead carpenters must be able to read plans, lay out work, lead small crews, solve jobsite problems, maintain quality, communicate clearly, and push production forward. Lead carpenters should be self-directed, organized, and capable of running work in the field while maintaining Black Summit’s quality standards.

PAY AND SCHEDULE

Pay ranges from $25 to $55 per hour depending on experience, skill level, tools, reliability, leadership ability, and overall value to the crew.
Most shifts are 10 to 12 hours.
Work is mostly remote and rotational. Typical rotations are around 3 weeks on, with time off depending on the project, location, and schedule.
Remote work may include food and lodging provided, flights or transportation support, and/or per diem depending on the job.
