The Opportunity
Are you a skilled mariner with a passion for hospitality? We are looking for a professional, charismatic Boat Charter Captain to join our team for the 2026 season. Operating out of the heart of Lake Union, you will be the face of our fleet, providing guests with unforgettable experiences against the iconic Seattle skyline.
From high-energy UW Sailgating parties to intimate Sunset Cruises and the peak-summer madness of Seafair, no two days on the water are the same.
Key Responsibilities
Safe Vessel Operation: Primary responsibility for the safety of all passengers, crew, and the vessel at all times.
Diverse Charter Types: Execute 2–6 hour charters including sightseeing tours, corporate events, and raft-ups.
Event Specialization: Lead the charge during major Seattle maritime events, specifically navigating heavy traffic during Seafair (Blue Angels) and managing the tight maneuvers of Husky Sailgating at Husky Stadium.
Hospitality & Vibe: Engage with guests, provide local trivia/history, and ensure a premium service environment.
Vessel Maintenance: Perform pre- and post-voyage inspections; ensure the yacht is pristine and "show-ready" for every client.
Requirements & Qualifications
Preferred; Valid USCG Master or OUPV (6-Pack), at minimum and 50-ton preferred for 12 packs for the commercial operation.
Experience: Proven experience navigating the unique traffic patterns of Lake Union and the Montlake Cut.
Compliance: Current CPR/First Aid certification and enrollment in a random drug testing program (as per USCG regulations).
Personality: You are a "People Person." You can read the room—knowing when to engage with guests and when to provide a quiet, professional atmosphere.
Reliability: Punctuality is non-negotiable. Our guests expect their cruise to start exactly on time.
Why Join Us?
The Best Office in Seattle: Spend your summer on the lake watching the sunset over the Space Needle and the Olympic Mountains.
Flexible Scheduling: Perfect for captains looking to supplement their income or enjoy the best of the PNW summer.
Build hours and experience on the Water.
Prime Tips: Our clientele rewards exceptional service; your earning potential goes well beyond the base hourly rate.
