Prop Repair Technician
Description
We are seeking additional propeller repair techs to add to our crew.
Experience in the marine industry or in a metal or fab shop is great, but not necessary, as we offer full on-site training in most every aspect of prop repair.
This position is Full time and year-round with opportunity for advancement.
Who We Are: Prop MD is a stand out company in propeller knowledge and service. As the largest Repair company in the midwest we pride ourselves on our knowledge of propellers, the quality of our work, and -most importantly- the level of service we provide our customers. We have a retail location with an on-site repair shop. We repair Stainless, Aluminum, Bronze, and Nibral props for customers and Marinas both locally and nationally.
What We Do: We work with customers to find the right prop to achieve their performance goals, and, when they run aground, we bring them back to new condition. Our Service Technicians have an opportunity to see their work through from start to finish, providing a sense of ownership and pride in one’s work. True craftsmanship.
What the job entails:
straightening Stainless Steel, Aluminum, Bronze and NiBrAl propellers on a die
grinding off welds
shaping of the prop using hand tools and stand up grinders
balancing on static and dynamic balancers.
Communicate/coordinate with sales desk for timing and repair specifics.
Maintaining a clean work space both in personal and shared areas.

Who We Are Looking For: A highly detailed craftsman in metal work. Should also be self-motivated, and reliable employee with a metal working background. Training provided on propeller specifics. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, good communication skills, and a willingness to learn. You must be reliable, trustworthy, and work well both independently as well as with others. People that excel in this position will have a keen eye for detail and an appreciation for metal craftsmanship.

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8-4:30 pm with OT available but not required. Possibility of different hours to accommodate applicants.

Wage: Starting pay ranges from $22-$25 per hour based on experience and qualifications.
