Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Body Shop Manager & New Business Coordinator to lead our collision repair operations and drive new customer acquisition. This pivotal role combines hands-on management of the body shop’s daily functions with strategic outreach to grow our client base. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in automotive repair, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service. Your energy and proactive approach will ensure smooth shop operations while expanding our market presence, creating a seamless experience for customers and team members alike.

Duties

Oversee all aspects of the body shop’s daily operations, including repair workflows, quality control, and safety compliance
Manage and mentor a team of technicians, mechanics, and service writers to ensure high performance and professional development
Coordinate new business opportunities through community outreach, networking, and establishing relationships with insurance companies and fleet clients
Develop and implement strategies for upselling additional services such as alignments, oil changes, brake repairs, suspension work, tire services, transmission repairs, diesel engine repairs, shocks & struts, air brake systems, and other automotive diagnostics
Ensure accurate auto estimating, service writing, and documentation for each repair job to maximize profitability
Maintain excellent customer service standards by communicating effectively with clients throughout the repair process and resolving any concerns promptly
Monitor inventory levels of parts and supplies necessary for efficient operations while managing cash handling procedures securely
Stay current with industry trends and technical advancements in automotive repair including automotive diagnostics, mechanical knowledge, and specialized services like auto body repair or air suspension systems
Experience

Proven dealership experience with a strong understanding of auto service management practices
Hands-on mechanic experience with automotive diagnostics, repairs (including transmissions, brakes, shocks & struts), and vehicle maintenance procedures
Demonstrated success in upselling services and increasing revenue within an automotive environment
Knowledge of auto estimating software and service writing processes
Familiarity with automotive repair specialties such as tire service, oil changes, suspension work, diesel engine repairs, alignment services, and auto body repairs
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients
Previous leadership experience managing a team of technicians or service staff in a fast-paced shop setting
Ability to handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining compliance with financial procedures
