Groome’s Brick & Foundation – Norfolk, VA
Groome’s Brick & Foundation is seeking an experienced Brick Mason / Bricklayer to join our growing team. This is a full-time, long-term position for a skilled professional who takes pride in quality craftsmanship and reliability.
Position Details
- Schedule: Monday – Friday
- Hours: Average 40 hours per week
- Pay Rate: $25/hour
- 90-Day Probation Period: $23/hour
- Opportunity for raise at the end of probation based on performance
- Pay Schedule: Weekly (Every Friday) with a one-week hold on the first paycheck
- Company Truck: Provided for work-related use
- Paid Time Off (PTO):
- Accrues at 1.5 hours for every 40 hours worked (12 months of employment)
- 401(k) Retirement Plan with company match (after 12 months of employment)
- $500 Performance Bonus at the 12-month mark and every 6 months afterwards.
- Second Raise Opportunity at 12 months based on performance, production attendance

The first 90 days are a probationary period to ensure:

Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of brick masonry experience with a reputable company
- Proven brick restoration experience, including:
- Tuckpointing and repointing
- Brick repair and replacement
- Mortar matching
- lintel replacement
- Recent industry experience (must have worked as a brick mason within the last 12 months)
- Valid Virginia Driver’s License
- Photos of masonry work you personally completed (required)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship
- Reliable and professional work ethic
