Join our dynamic construction team as a Brick Mason, where you'll bring craftsmanship and precision to a variety of building projects. We are a 40 year old company that focuses on residential custom work. In this role, you will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and restoring structures using brick, stone, concrete blocks, and other masonry materials. Your expertise will help shape durable, aesthetically pleasing surfaces that stand the test of time. We value motivated professionals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about delivering high-quality results on every project. Transportation to the job site ON TIME is a must. Work is typically in Va Beach, Chesapeake, Norfolk and Suffolk. Mon-Fri 7-3:30. Possible extra hours offered.
Responsibilities
Lay bricks, stones, concrete blocks, and other masonry materials with accuracy and attention to detail.
Prepare surfaces by applying plastering, stucco, or caulking to ensure proper adhesion and finish quality.
Operate hand tools and power tools safely to cut, shape, and install building materials efficiently.
Install rebar reinforcement and perform concrete forming and finishing to create strong structural elements.
Execute hardscape features such as patios, walkways, retaining walls, and decorative masonry elements.
Collaborate with carpenters, roofers, welders, and other trades to coordinate construction activities on-site.
Use heavy equipment operation skills when necessary for site preparation or material handling during restoration or renovation projects.
Skills
Extensive construction site experience with a strong understanding of building material installation techniques.
Proficiency in construction estimating to assess project needs accurately.
Skilled in interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and blueprint specifications for precise execution.
Expertise in masonry work including bricklaying, stone setting, stucco application, and tile laying.
Knowledge of concrete finishing techniques and concrete forming processes for durable structures.
Ability to operate hand tools such as trowels, hammers, chisels as well as power tools like saws and drills safely and effectively.
Experience with rebar installation for reinforced concrete projects; metal stud framing; framing carpentry; trim carpentry; roofing; plastering; caulking; restoration work; and renovation projects.
Familiarity with heavy equipment operation relevant to construction sites when necessary for material handling or site prep.
Strong understanding of schematics and interpreting technical drawings to ensure accurate implementation of design intent.
