Building Maintenance Technician needed Downtown Grand Rapids

Job Duties

• Take care of the building and make sure everything is working properly.
• Check the building for problems and make repairs when needed.
• Do basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, drywall, and painting work.
• Help with remodeling and other building projects.
• Change light bulbs and fix minor lighting problems.
• Take care of the grounds, sidewalks, parking areas, and entrances.
• Remove snow and put down salt during the winter.
• Set up and take down tables, chairs, and equipment for events.
• Keep maintenance supplies stocked.
• Work with outside contractors when needed.
• Respond to tenant maintenance requests.
• Help keep the building safe and in good condition.
• Provide good customer service to tenants, guests, vendors, and Masons/owners.
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for emergencies.
• Perform other maintenance duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Maintenance, handyman, construction, or similar experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of building repairs.
• Able to use basic hand and power tools.
• Able to work on your own and solve problems.
• Reliable and dependable.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements

• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Able to climb ladders, bend, kneel, and reach.
• Able to work inside and outside in different weather conditions.

Schedule

• Full-time or part-time depending on the candidate
• Rotating on-call schedule.

- Some evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required.
