HIRING: Cabinet Maker Apprentice – Learn a Skilled Trade (North Charleston)
Compensation: $17.00 – $21.00 / hour (DOE) + Friday Overtime
Employment Type: Full-Time (40+ hours/week)
Location: North Charleston, SC
We are a high-end custom woodworking shop in North Charleston seeking a dependable, hard-working Cabinet Maker Apprentice to join our production team. We will train the right individual who brings a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
Schedule & Working Conditions
Hours: Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (10-hour shifts)
Overtime: Friday overtime required as needed to meet production schedules
Environment: Active manufacturing facility without climate control (exposure to heat/cold; fans and space heaters utilized)
Key Responsibilities:
- Use hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment to assemble custom cabinets and components
- Read cut lists, blueprints, and assembly plans accurately
- Measure, inspect, and label materials to ensure strict quality standards
- Lift, move, and organize materials and shop carts around the facility
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace
- Qualifications & Physical Requirements
- Mechanical Aptitude: Comfortable working with hand tools, power tools, and reading a tape measure accurately
- Teachable Mindset: Willingness to receive direct coaching, learn digital workflows, and master cabinet construction techniques
- Physical Capability: Ability to stand for 10-hour shifts and consistently lift up to 70 lbs
- Reliability: Strict adherence to schedule—frequent absenteeism and tardiness are not tolerated
- Zero-Tolerance Drug Policy: Must pass a pre-employment drug test and consent to policy compliance.
- Background Check: Successful candidates must pass a background check prior to hire.
