Job Opportunity: Custom Cabinet Assembler
Surge Custom Woodworks is looking for an experienced Custom Cabinet Assembler to join our shop team. We are seeking someone who takes pride in quality craftsmanship, works well with others, and can help keep projects moving efficiently from start to finish.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience assembling custom cabinetry, including face frame cabinets, inset cabinets, and full overlay cabinets. This person should be comfortable using proper shop tools, making custom modifications when needed, problem-solving during assembly, and producing clean, accurate work.
Responsibilities include:
● Assemble custom cabinets according to plans, drawings, and shop standards
● Build and modify face frame, inset, and full overlay cabinets
● Use proper tools and techniques to complete custom cabinetry work
● Problem-solve during assembly and make adjustments as needed
● Coordinate with the team regarding job duties, responsibilities, and deadlines
● Plan ahead for the next day’s work to keep projects organized and on schedule
● Maintain a clean and safe work area
● Clean up after yourself and help keep the shop organized
● Communicate clearly with shop leads, designers, and other team members
Requirements:
● Previous experience in custom cabinetry, woodworking, or cabinet assembly
● Strong craftsmanship and attention to detail
● Ability to read and follow cabinet plans, drawings, and instructions
● Experience assembling face frame, inset, and full overlay cabinets
● Comfortable using standard cabinetry and woodworking tools
● Ability to modify and customize cabinets as needed
● Must have basic personal tools; specialty tools and larger shop equipment will be provided
● Reliable, organized, and able to work well with a team
● Must be able to manage time, meet deadlines, and take pride in clean, quality work
