About JPK Associates

JPK Associates is an AWI-certified commercial architectural millwork and casework manufacturer with about 30 years in business. From our 31,000 sq ft shop in Middle River, we build high-end interiors for general contractors across the DC, Maryland, Virginia, and Baltimore region, including corporate offices, healthcare, education, hospitality, and multifamily. We're growing, and we're looking for a true craftsman to help build our most complex pieces.

This is not a box-building job.

We're not looking for a parts processor, machine operator, or line cabinet assembler. We need someone who can take a set of shop drawings and turn them into a finished, one-of-a-kind piece: someone who understands how millwork is built, not just how it's put together.

What You'll Build

Reception and nurse station desks with curved faces, transaction tops, and mixed materials
Bars, back bars, and hospitality millwork
Die walls, wall paneling, and feature walls
Custom built-ins, display units, and specialty casework
Solid surface and plastic laminate countertops and assemblies

What You'll Do

Read and interpret architectural shop drawings, elevations, and sections
Lay out, build, and assemble custom millwork from start to finish with minimal supervision
Work with plastic laminate, wood veneer, solid wood, solid surface, and metal accents
Build curved, radius, and angled work using bending ply, kerfing, templates, and jigs
Problem-solve field conditions, scribes, and transitions before they become install problems
Hold AWI quality standards on fit, finish, and tolerances
Coordinate with engineering, CNC, finishing, and installation teams
Mentor and train less experienced builders

What You Bring

5+ years of custom cabinet or architectural millwork experience in a commercial or high-end residential shop
Strong ability to read shop drawings and work from them independently
Proven experience building reception desks, bars, or similar complex custom pieces (photos of your work are a big plus)
Skilled with table saw, edgebander, panel saw, laminate trimmers, and hand tools
Experience with plastic laminate fabrication and veneer work
Solid shop math: fractions, layout, and radius calculations
Ability to plan your own build sequence and manage your time
Pride in your work and attention to detail
Own hand tools

Nice to Have

Commercial millwork experience on GC-driven projects

Familiarity with AWI Architectural Woodwork Standards
Solid surface fabrication
Experience reading CNC-cut parts and nesting output
Field installation experience

What We Offer

Competitive pay based on skill and experience

Health, dental, vision insurance
401(k) with company match
Paid time off and paid holidays
Overtime opportunities
Steady, year-round commercial work
Clean, organized shop committed to lean manufacturing
