Now Hiring: Experienced Custom Cabinetmaker & Installer
Hill Country Board & Beam | Custom Cabinetry & Architectural Millwork
Build Something Exceptional.
At Hill Country Board & Beam, we specialize in handcrafted, one-of-a-kind custom cabinetry and architectural millwork. We are a small, detail-driven woodworking shop dedicated to producing exceptional work with integrity, precision, and pride in craftsmanship. We continue to grow each year, and we are looking for skilled people who also want to grow their career and craft.
From custom kitchen cabinetry and built-ins to architectural wood beams and intricate trimwork, every project is thoughtfully designed and carefully built to meet the highest standards of quality.
We are looking for an experienced woodworker who takes pride in their work, pays attention to the details, and has the technical skills to build custom projects from start to finish. Our ideal candidate is a skilled problem-solver who can work independently, interpret plans accurately, and contribute to a team that values quality over shortcuts.
What You'll Do
Build custom cabinetry from start to finish using shop drawings, renderings, cut lists, and project specifications.
Read and interpret plans accurately, identify potential issues, and problem-solve throughout the build process.
Operate woodworking machinery, including CNC, panel saws, and jointers.
Cut, assemble, fit, and install cabinet components with precision.
Drill and prepare cabinetry for hinges, drawer slides, and other hardware.
Sand, prep, stain, and finish cabinetry to meet our quality standards.
Inspect completed work for accuracy, fit, and finish, making adjustments as needed.
Collaborate with team members to maintain an efficient workflow and meet project deadlines.
Prepare, protect, bundle, and load completed projects for delivery and installation.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.

What We're Looking For
Minimum of 2 years of hands-on custom cabinetry building experience.
Ability to independently build cabinetry from shop drawings and cut lists.
Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, renderings, and detailed specifications.
Working knowledge of woodworking machinery and shop equipment.
Understanding of cabinet construction, joinery, hardware installation, and finishing processes.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and overall fit and finish.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work through challenges without constant supervision.
A strong work ethic, reliability, and pride in producing high-quality work.
Ability to work well with a small team while taking ownership of individual responsibilities.
Experience with high-end residential cabinetry, custom built-ins, architectural millwork, or specialty woodworking is a plus.
What We Offer
Competitive pay based on experience, skill, and craftsmanship.
Paid time off (PTO) available after 90 days of employment.
A small-shop environment where quality craftsmanship is valued and your work makes a visible difference.
The opportunity to build unique, high-end projects rather than repetitive, production-line cabinetry.
A team that values work-life balance, accountability, and doing the job right.
How to Apply
If you are an experienced cabinetmaker who takes pride in building exceptional work and wants to be part of a team that values craftsmanship, we'd love to hear from you.
