Carpenter / Handyman

Description

Kolmo Construction is a Seattle general contractor. We do home remodels and commercial tenant improvements across King, Snohomish and Pierce counties. We're a small team taking on more work, and we're hiring a full-time carpenter/handyman to work alongside our field lead.

This is an early hire. As we add jobs and crew, the person in this seat can take on more: running small jobs on their own, training new people, and earning more as they do.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Work with our field lead on home remodels and commercial tenant improvements
  • Repairs and punch-list work
  • Drywall patching and texture, trim and molding, and hanging and adjusting doors
  • Paint touch-up, caulking, and minor tile and deck repairs
  • Hardware and accessory installs: cabinet hardware, shelving, blinds and grab bars
  • Keeping job sites clean and safe, and taking before-and-after photos of your work
Electrical and plumbing work goes to licensed trades, so this role does not need a license.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • You show up on time and finish what you start
  • You see what needs doing next and do it without being asked
  • You take pride in clean work and treat a customer's home or business with respect
  • You want to learn more trades and take on more responsibility over time
  • 2+ years of handyman, carpentry or remodel experience
  • Your own basic hand tools
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites
  • Able to lift 50 lb and work from ladders
  • 18 or older (the role uses power tools)
PAY AND SCHEDULE
  • $28-40/hour depending on experience, full-time, Monday to Friday, daytime hours
  • W-2 employee on Kolmo payroll
  • Overtime at 1.5x after 40 hours a week
  • Paid sick leave under Washington law
  • Start: right away
Kolmo participates in E-Verify.
