Carpenter - Framing

Description

I am looking for a Carpenter who has experience working on a variety of projects in residential construction and property management.

We work on residential remodels and small additions along with a variety of projects involved with property management and maintenance. The projects vary in scope and require flexibility with scheduling and responsibilities.
We have been in the is line of work for almost 20 years. The employees who work with me have been with me for 10+ years. I value a strong balance of work and time off. This is not a large company and everyone works together to ensure our various skills are being utilized to get the jobs done and done well.

This role involves performing a variety of carpentry and labor tasks to support residential and commercial projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a passion for craftsmanship, and the ability to work safely and efficiently on diverse construction sites.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with framing, drywall installation, trim carpentry, siding, and fixture installation according to project specifications and blueprints
  • Operate hand tools and power tools. Manage construction materials, debris, etc.
  • Read and interpret construction plans, schematics, technical drawings, and blueprints to ensure accurate project execution
  • Install doors, cabinets, flooring, tiles, roofing components, siding panels, and other building materials with precision
  • Follow safety protocols related to power tool safety, construction site safety standards, scaffolding use, electrical work, plumbing tasks, and metal stud framing
  • Must have your own work vehicle: pickup truck or van
Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques including residential carpentry and trim carpentry
  • Experience with construction estimating and reading blueprints or technical drawings accurately
  • Proficiency with hand tools and power tools
  • Familiarity with wood construction materials
  • Ability to interpret schematics for fixture installation or electrical wiring plans
  • Knowledge of construction site safety procedures including power tool safety and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Experience in remodeling projects involving flooring installation, tile laying, drywall finishing or cabinetry is highly desirable
This is a job for someone who if willing to work in a flexible and dynamic environment. Job-sites shift, projects are varied. A sampling of what we are doing at the moment include the following:
  • Commercial space - removing a wall and opening the space, replacing doors, etc
  • Small porch conversion to a fully conditioned space in conjunction with a kitchen remodel
  • Wood fence replacement
  • Finishing a previously unfinished basement with sheetrock, bathroom, egress, etc.
  • Tile backsplash with under-cabinet lighting
  • Kitchen renovation with basement bedroom
  • Apartment rehabs and renovation
