Carpenter Wanted

Progress Contracting Corp is an expanding, family-run business looking for a professional who is honest, hard-working, and motivated to learn about new materials, techniques, processes and expand their knowledge of building and construction management.
We are primarily a residential contractor with projects that usually range from $150,000 to $800,000 and often include detail work such as moldings, stairways, built-in cabinetry, custom millwork, etc.

The position entails a wide variety of tasks that range from minor demo to fine carpentry and everything in between.

Projects are centered around Westwood MA, but could be anywhere in metro west

Job Requirements:

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in frame to finish carpentry.
• Proficiency in finish carpentry (we often subcontract framing, roofing and siding).
• Detailed oriented-making accurate measurements, attending to repairs and finessing down to a minute level.
• Good math skills-must have a good understanding of measuring, square footage and how to compute dimensions as well as basic calculations.
• Have good communication skills-you’ll need to be able to discuss customer needs, make estimates and communicate or delegate tasks with colleagues.
• Must be willing to supervise and give direction to others
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Must be comfortable with heights and ladders
• Must have tools, own transportation and valid driver’s license.
• Ability to speak Spanish or Portuguese a plus
