Description
Metro Cellar Door is looking for a reliable, experienced installer to join our team.
We specialize in the installation and replacement of exterior basement/cellar doors, including mostly Bilco-style doors, steel cellar doors, and related masonry/construction work throughout the NYC and NJ metro area.
What You’ll Be Doing
Installing and replacing steel cellar/basement doors
Removing existing doors and frames
Drilling, anchoring, cutting, grinding, and fastening steel
Minor concrete, masonry, and carpentry work
Loading/unloading materials and tools
Working at residential and commercial properties
Keeping the work area and company vehicle clean
Communicating professionally with customers
We’re Looking For Someone Who:
Has construction or installation experience
Is comfortable using grinders, hammer drills, saws, hand tools, and power tools
Can lift and handle heavy steel doors and materials
Shows up on time and ready to work
Takes pride in clean, professional workmanship
Can work outdoors in different weather conditions
Has a valid driver's license and a clean/reasonable driving record
Can work well both alone and/or with a small crew without constant supervision
Experience installing Bilco doors, cellar doors, steel doors, masonry, concrete, welding, or exterior construction is a big plus, but we will train the right person.
Schedule
Full-time position.
Most work is performed Monday–Friday during daytime hours. Some days may start early depending on job location.
Our work takes us throughout NYC, Long Island, New Jersey, Westchester, and Connecticut.
Pay
$25–$30+ per hour depending on experience and ability.
Higher pay is available for someone who can quickly become a lead installer and complete jobs correctly without constant supervision.
What Matters Most to Us
We are looking for someone who wants a long-term position, not someone looking for a few weeks of work.
Reliability is extremely important. If you routinely call out, show up late, or don't take care of tools and equipment, this will not be a good fit.
If you're dependable, work hard, learn quickly, and take pride in your work, there is room to grow with the company.
