Certified Electrician – Public Works /Prevailing Wage-Union Contractor

Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled and reliable California State Certified Electrician to join our team. This role involves working across a variety of electrical environments—including high voltage systems—primarily on Public Works projects. Prevailing wages will apply based on Union Rates, as well as the county in California where the project is located.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in compliance with NEC and local codes.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues using voltmeters, ohmmeters, and other testing tools.
• Collaborate with construction teams to ensure safe, efficient project execution.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify hazards or improvement areas.
• Maintain high standards of safety, quality, productivity, and housekeeping.
• Complete tasks on schedule with or without direct supervision.
• Perform additional duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Current California State Certified Electrician certification (required)
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Reliable transportation and consistent punctuality
• Minimum 5 years of experience in residential, commercial, or industrial electrical work
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with Public Works, street lighting installation, and traffic signals as a
• Strong understanding of high and low voltage systems
• Ability to run conduit with precision and perform accurate layout work
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints/schematics
• Proficiency with electrical hand and power tools
• Strong communication, problem-solving skills, and positive teamwork attitude
• Dependable, self-motivated, and committed to completing projects from start to finish
