Summit Technology Group has an immediate, full-time opening for Certified General Journeyman Electricians with residential and commercial experience, excellent customer service skills, a positive attitude, integrity, a strong work ethic and a desire to help us grow with our company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct and works with journeymen and apprentices
  • Monitor progress of work
  • Completes required paperwork and coding
  • Ensures safety and quality of all work performed by crew
  • Evaluates fellow employees
  • Install buss feeders
  • Wire and conduit sizing
  • Switchgear installation and termination
  • Layout and preparation for installation
  • Underground layout and rough-in
  • Trouble shoot motors, controls, circuits and equipment
  • Plan and delegate work according to job specifications, team knowledge and abilities, and other trades on site
  • Responsible for ensuring appropriate materials and tools are available at job site
  • Apply knowledge of electrical systems and construction to planning site supervision
  • Coordinates with the Project Manager
  • Prepares detail drawings as built for job
  • Inspections
  • Maintain current knowledge of news, trends, and technology in the industry
  • Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of safety procedures
  • Adheres strictly to all safety requirements at all times
  • Monitors and enforces safety compliance of all crew members on job site
  • Operate all equipment and tools in a safe manner
  • Wear personal protective equipment when required
  • Work energized circuits and equipment with company management approval as outlined in Safety Policy
  • Works professionally and collaboratively with management
  • Maintains a positive attitude and cooperative working relationship with all other employees, management, vendors, and clients
  • Install all work
  • Rigging and set-up for all operations
  • Basic theory knowledge
  • Possess skills of lower ET-Rating Job Title (ET-4, ET-3, ET-2 and ET-1)

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Certified General Electrician will supervise a crew of 1-2 Electrical Trainees per job

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must hold a valid Certified General Electricians Card
  • Must have five years of previous electrical experience
  • Must hold a current Driver’s License
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must have required personal tools with them at all times (waist tool belt as worn weighs approximately 30 lbs)
  • Positively identify colors of wires
  • Comprehends reading and drawing prints and schematics of same
  • Bend conduit by hand with hand benders
  • Must use all power tools, saw, threaders, wire tuggers, hydraulic benders, and knockout punches
  • Capable of digging trenches, either by use of hand tools or power equipment
  • Operate equipment, trenchers, lift trucks in a safe manner
  • Practices and comprehends safe work procedures as outlined in Company Safety Policy Handbook, Haz-Mat Policy, and Lockout/Tagout Policy
  • Operates two (2) handed tools/equipment, cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools and jack hammers
  • Operate company trucks with manual and automatic transmissions
  • Read and interprets maps, instructional manuals, specifications, work site directions, blue prints and written instructions
  • Operate and work from mechanical personnel lifts (electric or gas powered)
  • Work energized circuits and equipment with company management approval as outlined in Safety Policy
  • Supervise assigned job site employees to complete project
  • Must maintain 32 hours of continuing education for renewal of certification
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High School Graduate, holder of G.E.D., or equivalent training
