Description
New Orleans Mechanical Pros is seeking a highly skilled, dedicated, and seasoned Chiller & Boiler Technician to join our team. If you have deep technical expertise in commercial and industrial HVAC/R mechanical systems, take pride in top-quality craftsmanship, and are looking for steady, weekly pay with high earning potential, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: Inspect, diagnose, and service complex commercial/industrial chillers (centrifugal, screw, scroll, water-cooled, and air-cooled) and commercial boiler systems (steam and hydronic).
Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, annual tear-downs, system tune-ups, combustion analysis, tube brushing, and seasonal startups/shutdowns.
Repairs & Overhauls: Execute major and minor mechanical repairs, compressor rebuilds/replacements, burner tuning, pump rebuilds, and piping/valve replacements.
Controls & Optimization: Read electrical schematics, wire diagrams, and troubleshoot BAS/DDC control systems, safety interlocks, and combustion controls.
Customer Service & Documentation: Communicate clearly with facility managers and clients regarding system status, required repairs, and maintenance recommendations. Complete daily service tickets and documentation accurately.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience: Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience working specifically with commercial/industrial chillers and boilers.
Tools: Must provide your own complete set of hand and specialty HVAC/mechanical diagnostic tools (gauges, meters, hand tools, vacuum pumps, etc.). Heavy equipment/specialty rigging provided as needed.
Certifications:
EPA Universal Certification required.
Relevant boiler operator/stationary engineer or state mechanical licenses are a strong plus.
Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Work Ethic: Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work independently, and availability for emergency on-call rotations when needed.
Compensation & Benefits
Hourly Rate: Starting at $30.00/hr during the initial 90-day probationary period (with performance and pay review upon completion).
Sign-On Bonus: $10,000 cash bonus awarded following successful completion of 120 days on the job.
Pay Schedule: Weekly direct deposit.
