CLASS A TRUCK DRIVER / EQUIPMENT HAULER – ASPHALT PAVING COMPANY
FOLSOM LAKE ASPHALT INC.
is hiring an experienced Class A Truck Driver / Equipment Hauler for our paving operation in the Sacramento area.
*** IMPORTANT – PLEASE READ:
Our 10-wheeler is currently in the shop being repaired. We cannot give an exact start date until the truck is released. We need someone who can be ON CALL and ready to start as soon as the truck is back from the shop. Once the truck is back, we expect to put the position to work immediately.
WHAT YOUR DRIVING:
What You’ll Be Driving / Hauling:
10-wheeler truck
Large equipment trailer
LeeBoy asphalt paver
Case skip loader and other paving equipment
Hauling asphalt, grindings, materials, and equipment between jobs, plants, and our yard
WE NEED AN EXPERIENCED ASPHALT DRIVER.
You must know how to:
- Safely operate a 10-wheeler and tow a large equipment trailer
- Load, secure, haul, and unload heavy paving equipment
- Back up safely and accurately on active paving jobs
- Back into and feed an asphalt paving machine while paving
- Maintain proper contact with the paver without riding the brakes or fighting the machine
- Work with paving crews using hand signals and communication
- Perform pre-trip/post-trip inspections
- Check truck/trailer lights, wiring, tires, brakes, chains, binders, and securement
- Keep the truck and trailer clean and job-ready
- REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid Class A CDL
- Clean and insurable driving record
- Heavy equipment hauling experience
- Asphalt paving experience strongly preferred
- Experience feeding a paving machine strongly preferred
- Dependable and able to show up on time
- Safety-minded and able to take care of company equipment
- Must be able to pass all legally required employment/DOT screening requirements
Full-time (DURING ASPHALT SEASON) (HAULING DURING WINTER SEASON) once truck is operational. Must initially be available ON CALL for our start date.
LOCATION:
Sacramento / Rancho Cordova area with travel to job sites throughout Northern California.
