Classic & Vintage Car Specialist - New Shop Opening September 14th!
Experienced Professional Auto Technician
Description
Are You Tired of the Dealership Grind?
Tired of warranty times getting cut while the work gets harder? Sick of spending your days churning through a relentless line of waiter recalls, fixed-rate warranty jobs, and corporate micromanagement? Are you ready to work in a shop where your decades of hands-on diagnosis and mechanical craftsmanship are actually valued?
At our new vintage and classic auto repair facility in Peoria, we do things differently. We specialize in keeping the legends alive—primarily classic and collectible cars from the 1960s through the 1980s, alongside trusted service for our loyal clients' modern vehicles.
Here, you aren’t just a flat-rate number pushing paper through a service drive. You talk directly with your customers, guide their repair decisions using your expertise—not a corporate marketing script—and work on vehicles that genuinely excite anyone who loves cars.
What You’ll Be Doing
Classic & Vintage Service: Perform old-school tune-ups, carburetor adjustments, brake overhauls, suspensions, and alignments on 1960s–1980s classic muscle, cruisers, and collectible cars.
Diagnostics & Electrical: Troubleshoot complex vintage and custom wiring repairs, non-OBD system issues, and perform thorough general mechanical diagnoses.
General Repair & Maintenance: Execute complete repairs across all vehicle systems, including occasional modern driver maintenance (up to current model years) for repeat clientele.
Performance upgrades like fuel injection conversions, AC system conversions, disc brake and power steering upgrades
Customer Collaboration: Partner directly with vehicle owners to explain diagnostic findings, recommend repair paths, and build long-term trust based on real shop-floor experience.
What We’re Looking For
10+ Years of Professional Automotive Experience: Strong mechanical intuition and deep knowledge of classic engine architecture, carburetors, ignition systems, and vintage mechanical setups.
ASE Certification: Active ASE certifications (Master Tech status is a strong plus).
Wiring & Diagnostic Mastery: Ability to read schematics, trace electrical gremlins, and wire vintage or retrofitted systems cleanly.
Pride in Craftsmanship: Someone who treats high-value classic vehicles with precision, respect, and meticulous care.
Communication Skills: Comfortable talking directly to passionate classic car owners with transparency and confidence.
Self-Motivated & Honest: Looking for a long-term home where ethics and craftsmanship come first.
Why Join Us?
No Dealer BS: No warranty time cuts, no factory quotas, and no endless recall lines.
Diverse & Exciting Work: Work on iconic American muscle, vintage imports, unique collectibles, and selected modern builds.
Direct Impact: Help shape the culture and reputation of a brand-new, growing facility in Peoria.
Respect for Your Craft: Work in an environment where your diagnostic decisions and recommendations carry real weight.
Competitive Pay & Schedule: Outstanding compensation based on experience with a stable, manageable work environment in a clean, well equipped new shop.
