CNC Programmer – Custom Fabrication Shop

11th St Workshop is looking for an experienced CNC Programmer to join our fabrication team in Jersey City, NJ.

This position will work directly under our CNC Manager and support the day-to-day programming and production needs of the CNC department. We produce custom work for events, retail installations, brand activations, exhibits, and other specialty fabrication projects, so the work is varied and fast-paced.

We’re looking for someone with solid CNC experience who can take direction, work accurately, and help keep production moving efficiently.

Responsibilities include:
-Programming CNC files based on shop and production drawings
-Preparing and nesting files for efficient material usage
-Setting up jobs for CNC production
-Selecting appropriate tooling, feeds, speeds, and cutting methods
-Operating CNC equipment as needed
-Reviewing files and catching potential issues before production
-Troubleshooting programming and machining problems
-Working with MDF, plywood, plastics, and other common fabrication materials
-Keeping CNC files and production information organized
-Working closely with the CNC Manager, drafting team, and fabrication department

Ideal candidate:
-Previous CNC programming experience
-Ability to read and understand shop drawings
-Strong understanding of CNC tooling and machining
-Experience in woodworking, millwork, scenic, or custom fabrication is preferred
-Strong attention to detail
-Organized and able to manage multiple jobs at once
-Comfortable taking direction and working as part of an established CNC department
-Reliable and able to keep up with production deadlines

Experience with Biesse and CAMaster CNC equipment is a strong plus.
