CNC/Lathe Machine Operator/Programmer

Our Client is in ned of an experienced CNC Lathe Machine Operator/Programmer. Work schedule is Mon-Thurs, 7:30 am to 6 pm.

Pay: $30.00 - $36.00 per hour

Job description:

This is a hands-on, high-skill position — not a production or operator role.

What You’ll Do

Program, set up, and run CNC lathes (Okuma controls preferred) using G & M code at the machine
Interpret blueprints and GD&T to produce precision components
Determine tooling, workholding, and machining strategy independently
Hold tight tolerances (±.0002 typical)
Perform in-process and final inspection using precision measuring tools
Troubleshoot and resolve machining challenges
Contribute to fixture design and process improvements as needed
What We’re Looking For

Requirements
5–10+ years CNC lathe experience in a job shop or prototype environment
Ability to program at the machine (not dependent on CAM)
Strong understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
Experience holding tight tolerances and working with a variety of materials
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong attention to detail and personal accountability
Preferred:

Okuma control experience

CAM familiarity (CamWorks or similar)
Work Environment

4-day work week (Monday–Thursday)
Clean, climate-controlled shop
Low-volume, high-precision work — quality over quantity
Team-oriented environment with experienced machinists
Organized workflow — not a chaotic production floor
Compensation

$32–$38/hr based on experience and capability
Top-of-range reserved for machinists who can independently program, set up, and complete complex parts
Overtime available when needed (not excessive)
Requirements

Ability to lift 30–40 lbs as needed

Stand for extended periods
Pre-employment drug screening required
