Commercial Block Mason

Responsibilities:

• Lay CMU block for commercial construction projects
• Build structural and non-structural block walls to plans and specifications
• Install and work around rebar, bond beams, lintels, and embeds
• Set block accurately for line, level, plumb, and proper joint spacing
• Perform saw cutting and fitting of block as needed
• Coordinate with tenders and other crew members to maintain productivity
• Maintain quality workmanship and meet project schedules
• Follow all jobsite safety requirements

Requirements:

• 5+ years of commercial block masonry experience preferred
• Strong experience with CMU block construction
• Must be able to understand commercial masonry layouts
• Experience working with rebar, grout, scaffolding, and masonry equipment
• Must be physically able to lift and carry heavy block and materials throughout the workday
• Comfortable working on scaffolding
• Reliable transportation to job sites in San Bernardino and Los Angeles area
• Must be dependable, hardworking, and show up on time
• Ability to follow instructions and work well as part of a crew
• Basic masonry tools preferred
• Ability to read blueprints and drawings a plus
