Commercial Electricians and Top Helpers WANTED

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Electrician and Top Helper.

THIS IS ONGOING PROJECT AT THE JOINT BASE IN NORTH CHARLESTON. All applicants MUST be able to pass a background check and get on base.

This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems within commercial environments, ensuring all work complies with safety standards and electrical codes. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in industrial and commercial electrical systems, demonstrate proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics, and adhere strictly to NFPA 70 (National Fire Protection Association) standards. The Commercial Electrician position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, from new constructions to renovations, contributing to the safety and efficiency of commercial electrical infrastructure.

Duties

Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in commercial buildings, including high-voltage wiring and low-voltage systems.
Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to execute precise wiring layouts.
Ensure all electrical work adheres to local electrical codes, NEC (National Electrical Code), and NFPA 70 compliance standards.
Perform electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters to identify faults or system inefficiencies.
Install and maintain industrial electrical systems, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other automation components.
Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems to identify potential hazards or failures, implementing corrective actions promptly.
Utilize hand tools and power tools safely during installation, maintenance, or repair activities.
Collaborate with construction teams during new builds or renovations to ensure seamless integration of electrical components.
Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including schematics updates and compliance reports.
Follow strict electrical safety procedures to protect oneself and colleagues from hazards associated with high-voltage systems.
Skills

Proven experience as a commercial electrician with a strong background in industrial electrical systems.
Extensive knowledge of local electrical codes and regulations, including NEC standards.
Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams accurately.
Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical systems using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and circuit testers.
Experience working with high-voltage electrical wiring and low-voltage control systems.
Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automation equipment used in industrial settings.
Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and construction site safety protocols.
Strong understanding of NFPA 70 compliance requirements for fire safety related to electrical installations.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on safety, efficiency, and quality workmanship.
MUST be able to pass a background check.

Pay rate: $26 to $30 an hour, based on experience.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 2 pm to 12 am.
