Commercial Glazier/Installer

Job Summary

Southern Glass Company is looking for an experienced Commercial Glazier with a strong background in professional caulking and glazing installation. This position requires someone who takes pride in producing clean, consistent, and watertight sealant joints while delivering high-quality craftsmanship on commercial construction projects. We're looking for someone who understands that caulking is one of the final details customers notice. The right candidate takes pride in delivering neat, durable, and weather-tight sealant work that reflects the quality of the entire installation.

Responsibilities

Install commercial storefront, curtain wall, doors, and glazing systems
Apply high-quality silicone and sealants to commercial glazing systems
Produce clean, uniform, and aesthetically pleasing caulk joints
Properly prepare surfaces before applying sealants
Follow manufacturer specifications and project requirements for sealants
Set glass safely and accurately using proper glazing techniques
Install gaskets, setting blocks, pressure plates, and cover caps
Operate lifts, ladders, and jobsite equipment safely
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Communicate effectively with foremen, project managers, and other trades
Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements
Qualifications

Experience in commercial glazing preferred

Extensive experience applying commercial-grade silicone and sealants
Ability to produce straight, smooth, and professional caulk lines
Own basic hand tools (drill, impact, etc.) as well as general glazing tools
Neat appearance, friendly, well organized, easy to work with and articulate
Available for work from 6:00 am to 3:00 pm and possibly 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday with occasional weekend overtime
This is a position for someone who is very responsible and dependable (strong work ethic). Must show up every day on time and ready to work
Drug-free work place
Knowledge of glazing methods, waterproofing, and weatherproofing practices
Ability to read blueprints and shop drawings
Experience with storefront, curtain wall, and entrance systems
Comfortable working at heights and using aerial lifts
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Ability to lift 75 pounds and perform physically demanding work
