Southern Glass Company is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Commercial Glass Fabricator to join our team. The ideal candidate takes pride in producing quality work, works well in a team environment, and is committed to safety.
Responsibilities
Fabricate aluminum storefront, curtain wall, and entrance systems
Read and interpret shop drawings and fabrication details
Measure, cut, and assemble aluminum framing components
Operate fabrication equipment and hand tools safely
Verify dimensions and maintain quality standards throughout production
Work with the team to meet production schedules
Prepare materials for shipment and field installation
Organize and label fabricated materials by project
Assist with loading and unloading materials as needed
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Report material shortages, damaged products, or fabrication issues
Follow company quality control procedures
Qualifications
Construction or fabrication experience preferred (commercial glazing experience is a plus)
Ability to read a tape measure accurately
Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
Ability to read blueprints and shop drawings (preferred)
Own basic hand tools (drill, impact, etc.) as well as general glazing tools
Neat appearance, friendly, well organized, easy to work with and articulate
Available for work from 6:00 am to 3:00 pm and possibly 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday with occasional weekend overtime
This is a position for someone who is very responsible and dependable (strong work ethic). Must show up every day on time and ready to work
