Commercial Installer/Construction Technician

COMMERCIAL INSTALLER / CONSTRUCTION TECHNICIAN

Paid Training Available — Full-Time

Phillips Draperies is looking for dependable, mechanically inclined individuals to join our installation team.

We install roller shades, motorized shades, blinds, draperies, and related window-covering products on Commercial & Residential construction projects throughout Southern California.

Window-covering experience is preferred, but it is not required. We are willing to train someone who is hardworking, reliable, comfortable using tools, and interested in learning a specialized installation trade.

COMPENSATION

• $21.00 - $28.00 per hour, depending on relevant experience
• Full-time, hourly position
• Health Insurance, Paid Holidays, Paid Vacation, Sick Time, 401k Plan, Performance Based Bonuses Issued Twice a Year

WORK LOCATION AND SCHEDULE

• Report to our Pasadena location at 161 N. Sierra Madre Blvd.
• Fieldwork at commercial and residential jobsites throughout Southern California
• Schedule: Typical Start Times are 5:00a - 5:30a, though times can be adjusted based on customer needs (can be 1-2 Hours Earlier or Later)
• Use of Company Van to get to jobsites

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Install roller shades, blinds, drapery, drapery track, and related window-covering products
• Use hand tools, power tools, ladders, scaffolding, and aerial lifts safely
• Take accurate field measurements when assigned
• Unload, organize, and stage materials at jobsites
• Protect finished surfaces and maintain a clean, safe work area
• Document completed work, jobsite conditions, and installation photos using a mobile app
• Communicate with project managers and the operations team regarding job progress or field conditions
• Represent Phillips Draperies professionally when working with customers and contractors

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Reliable, punctual, and ready to work
• Comfortable performing physical, hands-on work
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions
• Comfortable working on ladders and elevated platforms
• Able to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs.; heavier items are team-lifted
• Basic smartphone proficiency
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid California driver’s license and acceptable driving record

EXPERIENCE THAT TRANSFERS WELL

We encourage you to apply if you have experience in construction, carpentry, cabinets, closets, commercial furniture, glazing, windows and doors, signage, low-voltage systems, maintenance, handyman work, appliance installation, or another hands-on trade.

Prior installation or construction experience is helpful but not required. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
