Commercial Journeyman Plumbers

We have an immediate opening for a full-time qualified Journeyman/Lead Foreman.

The Commercial Plumbing Journeyman usually has at least 4 years of experience and is responsible for installing plumbing systems and components on commercial construction projects. This role focuses on the physical installation of piping, fixtures, supports, equipment, and related systems, ensuring all work meets project specifications, code requirements, and company quality standards. The journeyman works closely with lead foremen and helps keep apprentices busy as well as understanding what they are doing. Communicate with their lead foreman to maintain productivity and deliver high-quality installations.

Key Responsibilities

• Install commercial plumbing systems including water supply, sanitary waste and vent, storm drainage, gas piping, and specialty piping.
• Lay out and route piping based on blueprints, specifications, and foreman instructions.
• Assemble, install, and secure pipes, fittings, valves, hangers, supports, and fixtures using proper tools and methods.
• Assist in rough-in, top-out, and finish phases of construction projects.
• Install commercial fixtures such as sinks, water heaters, pumps, flush valves, interceptors, and specialty equipment.
• Perform measurements, pipe cutting, threading, fusing, and soldering/brazing as required.
• Conduct basic system testing under supervision to ensure proper function and leak-free installation.
• Collaborate with other trades on-site to coordinate installation and avoid conflicts.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Follow company safety protocols, OSHA requirements, and local plumbing codes.
• Report progress, issues and material needs to the lead foreman or supervisor.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial plumbing installation, or relevant trade experience.
• Strong understanding of plumbing installation practices, tools, and materials.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, pipe threading, cutting, soldering, and other trade-specific equipment.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a team environment.
• Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, work at heights, kneel, crawl, climb ladders, and stand for extended periods.
• Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.

• Experience on large commercial or industrial construction projects.
• Knowledge of code requirements relevant to commercial plumbing.
• Familiar with safety protocols.
