Commercial Millwork Fabricator

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Millwork Fabricator to join our production team in the Kansas City area. In this role, you will build high-end architectural woodwork, custom reception desks, casework, and specialty fixtures for commercial, retail, and corporate environments. You will turn complex architectural blueprints into exceptional finished products in a fast-paced, commercial shop environment. This role also includes occasional local driving responsibilities using standard company vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
Build & Assemble: Fabricate high-volume commercial casework, architectural panels, reception desks, and custom trim.
Commercial Materials: Work expertly with solid wood, plastics, veneers, plastic laminates (PLAM), and solid surfaces (e.g., Corian).
Read Shop Drawings: Interpret complex architectural blueprints, cut sheets, and hardware specifications to plan production.
Operate Shop Machinery: Safely operate production machinery including table saws, shapers, routers, edgebanders, and wide-belt sanders.
Transport Materials: Drive standard company vehicles (pickup trucks or cargo vans) for occasional material pickups, job site drop-offs, or client deliveries across the KC metro area.
Maintain Quality Standards: Ensure all fabrications meet strict commercial durability requirements and design specifications (AWI standards preferred).
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience: Minimum 5-10 years of professional experience in commercial millwork, storefront fabrication, or commercial cabinet making.
Driver's License: Must possess a valid, standard driver's license with a clean driving record (subject to an insurance motor vehicle record check).
Transportation: Must have a reliable personal vehicle to ensure consistent, punctual attendance at our Kansas City shop.
Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency reading commercial blueprints and working with a wide range of hardware (hinges, slides, commercial locks).
Physical Demand: Ability to stand for long shifts, perform heavy shop labor, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
