We’re looking for a highly motivated Commercial Painting & Drywall Estimator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys winning work while maintaining strong profit margins.

Position Summary

The Commercial Painting & Drywall Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for commercial painting and drywall projects. This individual will review plans and specifications, perform quantity takeoffs, build relationships with general contractors, negotiate contracts, and help drive company growth.

Responsibilities

• Review blueprints, specifications, and bid documents.
• Perform detailed painting and drywall quantity takeoffs.

• Prepare complete and accurate project estimates.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing.

• Submit bids before deadlines.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site walkthroughs.

• Build and maintain relationships with general contractors and clients.
• Follow up on submitted bids and negotiate contracts.

• Coordinate project handoff to operations after award.
• Track bid opportunities and maintain estimating pipeline.

• Continuously identify opportunities to improve estimating accuracy and profitability.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial painting and/or drywall estimating experience preferred.
• Ability to read construction drawings and specifications.

• Experience with estimating software (PlanSwift, STACK, On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, or similar).
• Strong Microsoft Excel and computer skills.

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.

• Valid driver’s license.

Preferred Experience

• Commercial painting estimating
• Commercial drywall estimating

• General contracting experience
• Project management background

• Knowledge of coatings, drywall systems, and construction methods

Compensation

• Base Salary: $60,000–$90,000 (based on experience)
• Performance Commission: Based on profitable projects awarded

• Quarterly performance bonuses
• iPad

• Opportunities for advancement into Senior Estimator or Preconstruction Manager
