Job Type: Full-Time

We are seeking an experienced Sacking Foreman to lead our concrete and finishing crews on structural concrete projects throughout San Diego County.
This is a hands-on role responsible for supervising field personnel while ensuring all concrete patching, sacking, and finishing meet project specifications, schedule requirements, and the highest quality standards. This is a union role with union wages reporting to the sacking superintendent and/or general superintendent.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise concrete sacking and patching crews.
  • Perform and oversee concrete sacking activities.
  • Ensure all finished concrete meets owner, architect, and project quality expectations.
  • Coordinate daily activities with the Superintendents, Project Managers, Sackers, and other trades.
  • Plan daily work activities, manpower, equipment, and material needs.
  • Read and interpret project drawings, specifications, finish schedules, and repair procedures.
  • Promote a safe work environment by leading daily safety meetings, enforcing OSHA and company safety standards, conducting JHAs, ensuring proper PPE and fall protection, identifying hazards, and maintaining safe, organized job sites.
  • Train, mentor, and develop crew members on proper repair, finishing, and safety procedures.
  • Conduct quality control inspections, and address repair needs if any, throughout each phase of work.
  • Complete all required administrative tasks, including daily reports, timekeeping, production tracking, quality control, safety documentation, equipment inspections, and material management.
  • Coordinate manpower, scheduling, and maintain effective communication with project management regarding job progress and field conditions.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional job site.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of structural concrete sacking experience on commercial jobsites.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Foreman or Crew Leader.
  • Extensive knowledge of concrete finishing, patching, sacking, rubbing, grinding, and architectural concrete repair.
  • Experience achieving high-quality concrete finishes.
  • Ability to identify concrete defects and determine proper repair methods.
  • Ability to read plans, specifications, and finish requirements.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to effectively manage crews and maintain production schedules.
  • Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • OSHA 10; OSHA 30 certification is strongly preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
  • Cement Mason’s union membership is a plus
Equipment Experience
Qualified candidates should have experience with:
  • Aerial lifts
  • Boom lifts
  • Scissor lifts
  • Swing stage setup, inspection, and operation
  • Suspended access systems
  • Material handling equipment
  • Grinders, scarifiers, pressure washers, mixers, and specialty concrete repair tools
  • Fall protection systems and elevated work platforms
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Frequent climbing, kneeling, bending, lifting, and extended periods of standing.
  • Comfortable working at heights using aerial lifts, boom lifts, swing stages, and scaffolding.
  • Ability to work overtime and occasional Saturdays as required.
