Construction Coordinator – Multifamily Remodeling
We are seeking an experienced Construction Coordinator to support multifamily renovation and remodeling projects in Southern California. This person will help manage day-to-day construction coordination from project start through final inspections, working closely with subcontractors, vendors, property management, city departments, and building inspectors.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate multiple subcontractors and vendors including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, framing, drywall, flooring, cabinets, painting, roofing, and landscaping.
Schedule work, track progress, and keep projects moving on time and within budget.
Visit job sites regularly to verify work quality, safety, material deliveries, and subcontractor attendance.
Coordinate city permits, building inspections, corrections, and re-inspections.
Communicate with city building departments, inspectors, utility companies, and other required agencies.
Review plans and scopes of work; identify missing items, conflicts, delays, and change-order needs.
Obtain and compare vendor bids, assist with vendor selection, and track purchase orders and invoices.
Maintain project schedules, inspection logs, budgets, job-site photos, and weekly progress reports.
Coordinate with property managers and tenants when work is performed in occupied units.
Help ensure completed work meets plans, code requirements, and company quality standards.
Qualifications
Minimum 5–7 years of practical construction coordination or assistant project management experience.
Direct experience with multifamily apartment renovations, unit turns, remodels, or value-add projects strongly preferred.
Experience working on active job sites and coordinating multiple trade contractors.
Working knowledge of permits, city building inspections, inspection corrections, and construction sequencing.
Ability to read basic architectural plans, scopes of work, and vendor proposals.
Strong organization, follow-up, scheduling, and communication skills.
Comfortable using Excel, Google Sheets, email, and project-management or property-management software; Buildium experience is a plus.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for Southern California job-site visits.
Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
This is a hands-on role for someone organized, proactive, and comfortable solving day-to-day construction issues in the field.
