Construction Field Operations Manager / Working Foreman
Design Tech Contracting Inc. is seeking an experienced construction professional to plan, prioritize, and schedule active and upcoming work, coordinate crews and subcontractors, and keep jobs moving efficiently from start to finish.
We are looking for someone who thinks ahead. You will be responsible for making sure the right people are assigned to the right work, materials and tools are ready when needed, subcontractors are scheduled, and upcoming work is properly planned and organized.
This is a leadership and field operations position. You will work with the tools when necessary, but your primary responsibility is planning, scheduling, coordinating, and following through.
Responsibilities
- Manage active jobs across multiple job sites and keep upcoming work scheduled and organized
- Assign employees and crews to the appropriate jobs and tasks
- Coordinate work before, during, and after each project phase so nothing falls through the cracks
- Coordinate subcontractors and schedule their work as needed
- Order and organize materials, tools, and deliveries ahead of time
- Monitor job progress and adjust schedules as necessary
- Read and interpret blueprints and plans
- Identify and solve field issues without waiting for management to handle every issue
- Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, employees, and management
- Provide clear daily updates on job progress, upcoming needs, and scheduling
- Maintain quality workmanship and clean, organized, and safe job sites
- Work hands-on with the crew when necessary
- Strong experience managing and coordinating construction and renovation projects
- Strong hands-on experience with construction and renovations, including rough and finish carpentry, kitchens, bathrooms, houses, brownstones, apartments, and interior remodeling
- Experience coordinating the various trades involved in renovation work
- Experience scheduling employees, subcontractors, materials, and project tasks
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently, make decisions, and take responsibility
- Ability to read blueprints and plans
- Professional, reliable, punctual, and organized
- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle required
- Must have own basic hand tools
- Work primarily in Brooklyn and Queens
- Full-time position
